Sincerity

Umar bin al-Khattaab relates that: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, saying, “Verily actions are by intentions, and for every person is what he intended. So the one whose hijra was to Allaah and His Messenger, then his hijrah was to Allaah and His Messenger. And the one whose hijrah was for the world to gain from it, or a woman to marry her, then his hijrah was to what he made hijrah for.” [Related by Bukhaaree and Muslim.]

This hadeeth is one of the hadeeth around which the whole religion revolves, and it is related from Imaam ash-Shaafi’ee that he said, “This hadeeth constitutes a third of all knowledge.”

Imaam Ahmad said, “The foundations of Islaam are upon three ahaadeeth:· The hadeeth of Umar, ‘Verily actions are by intention’
· The hadeeth of Aa`ishah, ‘Whoseover introduces into this affair of ours that which is not part it, then it is rejected.’
· The hadeeth of Nu`maan bin Bashir, ‘The halaal is clear and the haraam is clear.’”

Ishaaq bin Raahawayah said, “the foundations of the religion are upon four hadeeth:· The hadeeth of Umar, ‘Verily actions are by intention.’
· The hadeeth, ‘The halaal is clear, and the haraam is clear.’
· The hadeeth, ‘Verily the creation of one of you comes together in the stomach of his mother for 40 days.’
· The hadeeth, ‘Whosoever invents into this affair of ours anything which is not part of it, then it is rejected.’”

Abu Ubayd said, “The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, collected all the affairs of the Hereafter in one statement, ‘Whosoever introduces into this affair of ours that which is not part of it, then it is rejected.’ And all the affairs of this world in one statement, ‘Verily actions are by intentions.‘ Place them in every chapter.”

Abu Daawood said, “I looked into the hadeeth of the Musnad (i.e. of Ahmad) and it consisted of 40 000 ahaadeeth. The I looked again and (found that) the 40 000 ahaadeeth revolved around 4 ahaadeeth:

· The hadeeth of Nu’maan bin Bashir, ‘The halaal is clear and the haraam is clear.’ · The hadeeth of Umar, ‘Verily actions are by intentions’
· The hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah, ‘Verily Allaah is pure, and does not accept except that which is pure. And indeed Allaah ordered the Muslims with that which He ordered the Messengers.’
· The hadeeth, ‘From the excellence of ones Islam is his leaving that which does not concern him.’”

Those who raise the generations Part 2

Those who raise the generations Part 2

5- Abdullah Ibn Az-zubayr al-Mazini radiyallaahu anh, the one who narrated the wudoo’ of the prophet (saws), and the one who killed Musaylamah the liar with his sword and he died on the day of al-hurrah. And his brother Habib Ibn zayd al-Mazini radiyallaahu anh, the one musaylamah cut into pieces! They were the fruits of a righteous mother,Umm Imarah Nusaybah bint Ka’b al-Maziniyyah al-ansariyyah Radiyallaahu anha, her brother was Abdullah Bin Ka’b Al-Mazini Radiyallaahu anh, from those who attended badr. She attended the night of al-aqabah, uhud, al hudaybiyah, hunayn, al yamamah and she fought a lot.

6- Abu Hafs,Umar ibn Abdul Aziz rahimahullah, from the best of the kings, he was just and righteous. His mother was Umm Aasim bint Aasim ibn Umar Ibnul Khattab radiyallaahu anhum, the best from her time and generous. Her mother was the one Umar Ibnul Khattab chose as a wife to his son Aasim, she didnt have what to be honoured with from family etc except from saying the truth while advising her mother when she ordered her to mix the milk with water, ans she said to her if Umar dont see us, The lord of Umar will see us! She gave her son the characters of his grandfather Al-Farouq Radiyallaahu anh.

7- Ameer al Mu’mineen AbdulRahman al-Naasir Rahimahullah, the one who ruled al-Andalus while it was sinking in fitnah, and blood was spilled. He couldnt stay in it so he went forth with his soldiers and opened 70 fortresses in one battle. He made it to the heart of france, switzerland and italy. He was the best of banu Umayyah in al-andalus and he ruled in 50 years and 6 months. He was the fruit of one woman for AbdulRahman was an orphan. His uncle killed his father when he was only 21 days old, so his mother raised him with the blessed characters.

8- Sufyan Ath-Thawri Rahimahullah, the jurist of the arabs and their muhaddith, he is the ameer al mu’mineen in hadeeth, the one it was said was the leader of the muslims. That great imam was also the fruit of a great mother, the history have saved her great merits and status.

The mother of Sufyan said to him:” My son, seek knowledge and i will help you with my spinning of wheel. She rahimahallah would work and give him so he would have time to seek knowledge, and she would give him lessons and advise. Once she said to him: O son, if you write 10 letters, look and see if it increased you in fear, patience and seriousness. For if you do not see any such improvements, then know that your knowledge harms you and does not benefit you”

So we still wonder hos sufyan reached the status of imam in the Deen? How not when he was raised by this merciful mother and he was fed with the milk of that advising mother with taqwa?

Lessons from the life in the shade of the aqeedah part 2

June 18th, 2007

It has taught me that: Good comes with good, and much is hidden in the upcoming days. Its upon the believer to accept what Allah decreed for him, for his anger and being displeased wont change anything of the decree of Allah.

It has taught me that: Patience comes with victory, and the path to victory requires from a person to remain firm on this path no matter what he will face from hardships and trials. It has taught me that: Iman is the provision of the believer and he will stand with it in the face of trials. The stronger the iman, the more he will increase in strength and loftiness. It has taught me that: After hardships comes ease, and after the night the fajr will appear, after trials comes the makhraj. And whoever sticks to Allah during trials and tribulations will have Allah as a helper and protecter.

It has taught me that: Smiling in the face of a believer is your weapon to eliminate the enmity and hatred and to plant love instead.

It has taught me that: I should perfom my deeds in secret, to stick to what i say and to finish what i started with til its end.

It has taught me that: I should recognize the position of a person. A weak muslim is more beloved to me than a strong hypocrite with influence.

It has taught me that: A Person is not weighed by his wealth and position, but by his Deen, Taqwa and devotion.

It has taught me that: A person is upon the Deen of his friends, so he should look at who he befriends.

It has taught me that: I should be clever and intelligent and learn from what surrounds me from experiences in all aspects of life.

It has taught me that: Actions is in need of a high spirit. And the spirit of a muslim should be high and great as the skies. And with the spirit we will reach the top bi-idhnillah.

It has taught me that: Dawah is the responsibility of every individual muslim, and dawah should be wherever a muslim would be.

It has taught me that: Dawah and enjoyning the good and forbidding the evil wont hasten death or delay rizq but whatever Allah decreed will happen.

Lessons from the life in the shade of the aqeedah

June 17th, 2007

[Posted by a sister on an arabic board]

A life in the shade of the aqeedah teaches many lessons, and from what life has taught me is:

The life in the shade of the aqeedah has taught me that: a muslim have no worth without his Deen, and that islam is the relief to the society, the nafs and the manners. It has taught me that: the more a person holds to his Deen, he will increase in honour, and the more he take his Deen lightly the more he will increase in disgraceIt has taught me that: the Deen is complete, and whoever adds to it have legislated and whoever removes something have legislated, this one in adding and the other in removing. Then what have the verse of Allah “This day have I perfected your religion for you” cleared for us if we add and remove as we want.

It has taught me that: its not possible for the love of the enemies of Allah and the awliya’ of Allah to be united in one heart, the love for the soldiers of tawagheet and the soldiers of Allah.

It has taught me that: the love and mercy have to be for the awliya’ of Allah, and the harshness should be with the enemies of Allah and those who fight his religion.

It has taught me that: A muslim is strong in his Deen, but is stronger with his brothers/sisters and with a jama’ah.

It has taught me that: with Jihad, the Ummah will be alive, shareah will be established, the principles will live on, the honour will return and the blood protected.

It has taught me that: the one who delays jihad, is in need of jihad.

It has taught me that: walking on the path of haqq with slow steps that will lead me to the pleasure of my Lord, is better than taking the path of batil with quick steps that will get me a wordly position, money and the anger of My lord.

to be continued inshaAllah

Stick To Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah

June 11th, 2007

Assalaamu Aleykum.

The importance of sticking to Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah is great, and there are numerous ahadeeth mentioning the obligation to stick to the same path as the prophet and his companions.

The prophet (saws) said: “Verily this nation will split into seventy one sects, all of them are in the fire except one, and it is the Jamā’ah.”

Its well known that the majority of people will always be against the truth as we have many verses in the Qur’an mentioning that.

One example:

“But most of them follow nothing but fancy: truly fancy can be of no avail against truth. Verily Allah is well aware of all that they do.” [10:36]

And Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood May Allah be pleased with him said:

‘Verily, the majority of the Jamā’ah are those who have left the Jamā’ah; the Jamā’ah is that which complies with the Truth, even if you are alone.”

No matter how few you see sticking with the truth shouldnt scare you off and make you doubt that this is the truth. Or if you see so many knowledgable people speaking against the truth and so many scholars, because the truth is not about the people or how many you see supporting it, but know the truth and you will know its people.

Abū Shāmah said in “Kitāb Al-Hawādith Wal-Bida’:

“Where ever the order to follow the Jamā’ah comes, then what is intended by it is adhering to the Truth and its followers, even if those holding steadfast to it are a small amount and those contradicting it are many ‘because the Truth is that which the first Jamā’ah was upon from the time of the Prophet and his Companions. And there is no consideration given to the great numbers of the People of Bid’ah from after them.

Sometimes shaytan wants to make you doubtful about this path and will whisper to you “do you really think your the only one following the truth”. But haq is haq and even if its sad to see so many people misguided we know what haq is, and we should stick to it no matter what, and bite on it with our molar teeth.

And if you see some people that you once knew to be on haq, chosing another path, it shouldnt scare you off or make you doubt aswel. but you should only be more firm and thank Allah that He chose you to be from Ahlul Haq.

“If the Jamā’ah becomes corrupt, then it is upon you (to follow) that which the Jamā’ah was upon before it became corrupted, even if you are alone, because then you are the Jamā’ah at that point.”

*The Jama’ah mentioned is Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah.

When Allah swear in the Qur’an

June 9th, 2007

Allah Ta’ala Swaer by Himself with his attributes, or His verses and His creations that shows that its a Big sign from the signs of Allah.

And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala swear by Himself 7 times in the Qur’an:

1-”The Unbelievers think that they will not be raised up (for Judgment). Say: “Yea, By my Lord, Ye shall surely be raised up: then shall ye be told (the truth) of all that ye did. And that is easy for Allah.” [64:7]

2-”The Unbelievers say, “Never to us will come the Hour”: Say, “Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by Him Who knows the unseen,- from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous” [34:3]

3-”They seek to be informed by thee: “Is that true?” Say: “Aye! by my Lord! it is the very truth! and ye cannot frustrate it!”[10:53]

4-”So, by thy Lord, without doubt, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Evil Ones (with them); then shall We bring them forth on their knees round about Hell” [19:68]

5-”Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account” [15:92]

6-”But no, by the Lord, they can have no (real) Faith, until they make thee judge in all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against Thy decisions, but accept them with the fullest conviction.” [4:65]

7-”Now I do call to witness the Lord of all points in the East and the West that We can certainly” [70:40]

And what Allah swears with in the rest of the Qur’an is by His creations, as in the verse:

“And by the sun and its brightness, And by the moon as it follows it (the sun)…..” [surat ash-shams from verse 1-7]

and His Saying:

“By the night as it envelops, And by the day as it appears in brightness, And by Him Who created male and female” [92:1-3]

and there are many of such examples in the qur’an, and Allah can swear by what He wants, but if the creations swear by other than Allah then thats shirk. theres a hadeeth that says:

“Whoever swears by anyone other than Allaah, has associated partners with Allaah“[Transmitted by Ahmad]

and the hadeeth narrated by Umar:

“Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed an act of kufr or Shirk.”

(Narrated by At-Tirmizi, who graded it as Hasan and by Al-Hakim, who graded it as Saheeh)

And when Allah swear by His creations, it leads to their Creator and that is Allaah Ta’ala, and its to show its virtues and benefits and for the people to learn from.

May Allah allow us to benefit from the Qur’an and its many blessings..

Raising your children on jihad

June 8th, 2007

Raising your children on jihad

By: Sayf ad-Deen al-Ansary

Source: sadaa al jihad magazine. 14th of rabi’ al-Awwal, 1428H.

All praise is due to Allah, and may Allah’s blessing be upon His messenger, family and companions and those guided with his guidance.

To proceed:

“O ye who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do (precisely) what they are commanded.” [66:6]

And the prophet (saws) said: “Indeed, all of you are shepherds, and all of you shall be questioned concerning your flocks. Hence, the leader of the people is a shepherd, and he shall be questioned concerning his flock, and the man is a shepherd amongst the people of his household and he shall be questioned concerning his flock. And the woman is shepherd over the house of her husband and his children, and she shall be questioned concerning them. The slave of a man is a shepherd over the property of his master and he shall be questioned concerning it. Surely, all of you are shepherds and all you shall be questioned concerning your flocks.” [Agreed Upon]

Furthermore, the Prophet (saws) states, “Any shepherd who deceives his flock shall be in the Fire.” [Sahih al-Jami’: 2713]

The goodness of any community is dependant on with the goodness of its foundation. And the foundation will not be correct or firm without the correct bricks that will support the structure and maintain its strength and firmness in fighting the forces of erosion and the blows of time and the turbulent tribulations. It is likewise with the Muslim community - it will not be good without the correct bricks.

The tree of this Ummah will not stand except with excellent soil and good seeds, until the roots take hold, then the trunk will rise and the leaves will become green, and the flowers will grow and we would reap fruits that are ripe and pure.

And just as there’s a need for a tree, then there is a need for it to stay standing. So it is in need of one to water it and guard it and take care of its needs. And if we are sure about the goodness of the soil and cleanliness of the water, then we must take care of the seedlings. And for the growth to be completed and to stand on a firm foundation, then we must choose the primary building blocks carefully, and that is the family. And taking care of the family begins even before it is built

So it is on the man to choose a good wife (future mother) and to select the one with Deen “Choose the one for her Deen, you will be successful,” who possesses good character, a sound mind, and has knowledge; the one who is loving and is child-bearing, the Mujaahidah in speech and actions, and the other characteristics, like nobility, wealth and beauty if it is there, but they are not called for by necessity.

And its on the wife to choose a good life partner and not to turn away the one with Deen and good character, the righteous man, the Mujaahid in the path of Allah, the one with Gheirah for the women of the Ummah and for their honour, who loves his Deen and is generous - so generous that he sold his life to his Lord – the courageous one who doesn’t fear death and is not softened by the passing of time, the one who doesn’t fear the attack of the enemy, the one who fear never enters his heart because the fear of Allah has removed the fear of anyone else. “When someone whose faith and conduct is acceptable to you, comes to you with a proposal, then marry him.”

As for the search for the likes of men because of their worldly posts, their wealth or their lineage (tribal or otherwise), they forget or are made to forget that all humans and tribes come from Adam and Hawaa’, and that Adam came from dust, so from where did all these Jaahili divisions come? Searching for these characteristics, if it shows anything, it shows the deficient thinking of the woman and her narrow-mindedness. She will encounter misfortunes because of that matter from the first day she enters upon that husband, and Allah is the one who guides to the straight path.

After the commitment of the couple come the offspring, InShaa’Allah. And children are the beauty of this Dunya. They are the hope of their parents and the soldiers of their Ummah. Their upbringing begins while they are still a foetus inside their mothers’ stomachs.. The child will feel the love of Islam while he is still in his mother’s womb, and this is through her love and sincerity towards her Deen, and her practicing of the Deen as was commanded by Allah and His Messenger, sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam, and her constant listening to the Qur’an with her heart before her ears, for her feelings are transferred to the child- by the power of Allah- no doubt. And this was proven in recent studies, Subhan’Allah.

And before that the prophet (saws) told us that “Every new-born child is born in a state of fitrah. Then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian or a Magian“. If the child is left on that fitrah without any influence, it would only turn a Muslim, but the distance caused it to turn to the wrong beliefs.

Ibn al-Qayyim Rahimahullah said: “Most children’s corruption is due to their parents and their neglect of them and their failure to teach them the obligations of this Deen and its Sunan. They lost them while young and so they don’t benefit themselves or their parents when they grow older. A parent criticized his son’s undutifulness to him, so the son said to his father: “O father, you were not dutiful to me while I was young, so I was not dutiful to you while you are older, you neglected me while younger so I neglected you as an old man.” And the child in his first years at least is in need of a mother who is there for him and not occupied by anything else from taking care of his childhood and raising the coming generations. Everything she does from house chores and taking care of the children is done on the account of those children and the new generation of humans.

And if we stressed the importance of the woman, it is because the child is closer to her in the first years due to his great need of her. The family is not only on the mother, but every spouse completes the other, and each one has his/her role. The men and women are the leaders of humanity, as it was said by Malik bin Nabiy, Rahimahullah. The man also has a big role in what he grants to his wife from personal comfort and tranquillity and guaranteeing the income that provides for her and her children an honourable life, so that she can fulfil her role in peace. And he also helps her in guiding the children and discussing their problems and finding solutions together on how to deal with them.

Here, sister, we start with you- the upbringer, the Dai’yah, the Mujahidah, and mention points we will take together, holding our children close to our hearts, and putting our weapons on our shoulders, towards loftiness. We seek to fulfil our fundamental role, and that is to bring lions to the fields and inciting them like al-Khansaa’, so they would intercede for us on the day when neither wealth or children would benefit us, and let us agree from now on a principle we wont abandon, and that is: our first jihad is raising our children.

Act Upon Allahs Guidance

May 31st, 2007

Assalaamu ‘Aleykum Warahmatullaahi Wabarakaatuhu
I write this because i wanna let something out of my heart, and i ask Allaah to assist me..

Wallaahi that Allaah guided us to this deen, and gave us this understanding is such a huge blessing that you cannot throw away, and we should all fear loosing this guidance that Allaah blessed us with.

subhanAllaah how many people start practicing, and end up with ahlul bid’ah..? and how many turn to the “modern” islam?

Wallaah this deen is so precious and it need brothers and sisters who are willing to sacrifice for the victory of this deen..and Allaah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala gave us this guidance, He showed us this way and made us realize the state of the ummah and how low we have gotten..so how do we thank Allaah for this huge blessing? it is only by actions! we need to act upon what we know, and if we dont we would be as everyone else, there would be no difference..the only difference between us and them is that we knew, and did nothing..while they didnt know..so the burden on us is bigger..

And the reason why i wanted to write this is, if we dont act upon this guidance, we would lose it.. we would get into the dunya and live a “normal” life like everyone else.. we would forget about the sufferings of our brothers and sisters..and what can we say on judgement day?
Allaah will ask us about our ilm and He will ask us about our deen, what did we do for it?

How many people have we seen that was once guided, but started defending baatil ideas and finding excuses? they once knew-just like us…but they didnt do anything about it..!

So, we gotta do something for our deen, and maybe some of us cant bcuz of different reasons, and everyone will be asked alone and Allaah is the All-Knowing..but when the opportunity comes, dont throw it away..and we should always ask Allaah to keep us guided, and to use us in defending this precious deen of ours..and beware of falling into dunya and leading a normal life..cuz its all temporary enjoyments..

May Allaah always keep us guided on the straight path, and let us live and die for this precious deen…Ameeen

A letter from a mujahid who was later martyred

May 28th, 2007

[This is part of a letter from the martyred mujahid Sa'ood bin hamood al Utaybi from the time he was wanted]

“I advice my muslim brothers to… Fear Allaah and do not be supporters for the tawagheet against their mujahideen brothers who refused to accept disgrace in their deen, and not to forsake their brothers, but to help them with what they can and not to be tight in their duaa for victory and firmness.

And i say to the scholars… Fear Allah in yourselves and your Ummah, say the truth and do not fear the blame of the blamers and dont be a help for those tawagheet or a speaker for them and repeat what they say.

For Allah says:”And remember Allah took a covenant from the People of the Book, to make it known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it; but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And vile was the bargain they made!” [3:187]

And i ask you by Allah, are those who defend the muslims, their countries and sacred places khawarij -killing the people of islam, and worshipping idols-? Or are the khawarij those who support the crusaders and open bases for them where their airplanes fly off and kill the muslims in iraq and other muslim countries?

And those who defend the disbelieving rafawidh in al madeenah and other places and send the people of tawheed who try to forbid the evil to prisons, so is he a wali amr for the muslims?

And i say to my mujahideen brothers and those on the run everywhere…

Be patient for Allaah says: “How many of the prophets fought (in Allah’s way), and with them (fought) Large bands of godly men? but they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah’s way, nor did they weaken (in will) nor give in. And Allah Loves those who are firm and steadfast. And they said nothing but: “Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties to You), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.”[146-147:3]

And beware of those who forsake, or accept the disgrace in your deen, by Allah it is counted days and we will stand in front of Allah and He will judge between us and those tawagheet and their helpers, and He is the best judge!

And i say to my father and every father of a mujahid…

Fear Allah and be patient, and dont be deceived by the threats of the tawagheet. By Allah they do not respect the ties either of kinship or of covenant of a believer. And the blessed one is he who gets martyrdom in the cause of Allaah, and we let you know that we pray to Allah to “forgive my parents bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.”

And i will not give my self up to those tawagheet, because in that is forsaking the mujahideen and it is not permissable or to accept the rule of the kafir, especially in these times, and Allah knows best.”
