China’s Muslim Uyghurs Forbidden to Fast During Ramadan

by muwahidah in Ummah

Chinese authorities in Xinjiang Province have issued a notice that any Uyghur cadres or workers found not eating lunch during Ramadan could lose their jobs.

It is part of the campaign of local authorities in Xinjiang, home to the Muslim Uyghur ethnic group, to force the Uyghur people to give up their religious rituals during the fasting month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is a holy month in the Islamic calendar, which begun this year on Aug. 22. It requires not eating during the daytime.

“Free lunches, tea, and coffee—that authorities are calling ‘Care from the government’ or ‘Living allowance’—are being offered in government departments and companies. But it is actually a ploy used to find out who is fasting,” said Dilxat Raxit, World Uyghur Congress spokesman, speaking to The Epoch Times.

According to Dilxat, Uyghur Communist Party cadres throughout Xinjiang had been forced to sign “letters of responsibility” promising to avoid fasting and other religious activities. They are also responsible for enforcing the policy in their assigned areas, and face punishment if anyone in these areas fasts.

For the first time, Dilxat said, the crackdown has extended to retired Communist Party members. Current cadres are required to visit them to prevent them from participating in the fast. If anyone violates the ban, local leaders will be held responsible and severely punished, he said.

Muslim restaurant owners are forced to sign a document to remain open and continue selling alcohol during Ramadan or have their licenses revoked, he said.

Uyghurs arrested during the July riots in Urumqi are also prohibited from fasting; those who insist on fasting will be force fed food and water while enduring insults for their misbehavior, he said in the interview.

Monks in mosques are forced to preach to others that fasting is a “feudal activity” and harmful to health, said Dilxat. Otherwise, their religious certification will be cancelled.

When asked about Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Hu Jintao’s recent visit to Xinjiang, Dilxat said: “Xinjiang’s situation has not yet returned to normal. Rather than asking the local Han people to respect the religion and culture of Uyghur people, Hu encouraged the use of military troops to suppress and further restrict our religious freedom. The communist regime often talks about ‘maintaining stability,’ but what they do is always different from what they say. They are actually the ones who are destroying stability.”

An Epoch Times reporter contacted the CCP’s State Ethnic Affairs Commission to see whether the restrictions claimed by Dilxat were official, or what the official stance on Ramadan was. The media contact wouldn’t speak on the subject, instead giving two numbers in Xinjiang that he said the reporter would be able to call to find out more. Both numbers were continually busy, and when the reporter called the State Ethnic Affairs Commission back, the man hung up.

A Carrot An Egg And A Cup Of Coffee (a nice example)

by muwahidah in Tazkiyah

Assalaamu ‘Alaikum

In the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Most Merciful

You may never look at a cup of coffee the same way again…

A Carrot An Egg And A Cup Of Coffee
—————————————————-
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as though just as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil.

In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me what you see.”

Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did, and noted that they were soft.

The mother then asked the daughter to take the egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee.

The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.

The daughter then asked, “What does it mean, mother?”

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently.

The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

Which are you?” she asked her daughter.

“When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?”

Think of this: Which am I?

Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.

When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity?

Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can’t go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you’re the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to you (I JUST DID); to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.

It’s easier to build a child than to repair an adult…

This is so true - May we all be COFFEE!

The Foundation of the Religion, Is a Guiding Book and a Supporting Sword

by muwahidah in Aqeedah

Author: Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdese
Added in: 2009-08-13

Jaabir bin Abdullah may Allah be pleased with him said, while holding a sword in one of his hands and a mushaf in the other: The prophet may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him ordered us to strike with this (meaning the sword), who strays from this (meaning the Quran)”"

Interpreting by that the words of Allah “We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice” [57:25]

So the purpose of sending messengers and books so that people uphold the rights of Allaah and the people with justice (fatawa shaykh al Islam ibn taymiyyah [263/28])

And among the biggest rights of Allah that he sent all the messengers for, and sent down all His books, is that people implement Tawheed, which is sincerely worshipping Allah alone in every way of their life. The message of all the prophets and all the books of Allah that was sent down to them from their beginning to their end all talks about this great right of Allah, it contains the following:

  • Either it’s a call to implement this right and fulfilling it, or a command to call to it and have patience during it, or incitement to jihad to implement it and loyalty and disownment for it.
  • Or to inform about those who implemented it and gave victory and performed jihad in its cause and what Allah prepared for them of great blessings and eternal grace.
  • Or a call to disownment of what contradicts it from shirk and a call to perform jihad against them and their people and strive to destroy it and remove it completely in all its shapes from the earth.
  • Or to inform about the fate of those who object to implement this right and those who fight it and its allies and what their fate became from disgrace and regret, and what Allah prepared for them of eternal punishment. All the books of Allah and the messages of all his prophets from beginning till their end all revolve around this right.

And the highest goal that the mankind was created for it’s the greatest purpose, and the messengers and books sent for.

And Allah swt said in surat al hadid: “And We brought forth iron wherein is mighty power (in matters of war), as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help Him (His religion), and His Messengers in the unseen.

So he who turns away from this right and doesn’t act according to it and reject it in the faces of the messengers and the callers to Allaah, is corrected by the sword.

And that is the meaning of the hadith of the prophet saws: (I was sent with the sword just before the Hour so that Allah is worshipped alone without partners. My provision was placed under the shadow of my spear, and those who defy my order were disgraced and humiliated, and he who imitates a people is one of them.) [Reported by Imam Ahmad from ibn umar.]

(So he who turns away from the book is corrected by the iron and that’s why the foundation of the Deen was made by the Quran and the sword.) [Al fatawa 264/28]

So the true scholars at anytime to make this right of Allaah the centre of their dawah and the point of their speeches and the anchor of their scales and roam in its fields, hum about it, getting imprisoned and persecuted in its cause and under its banner fight and being fought to death.

And its on them to continue striving to establish it in the light of the Quran and Sunnah with the proofs and arguments, and whoever stands against it and refuse it is corrected by the iron.

So everyone that knows the truth of this religion, even its enemies- knows that its tawhid and jihad, dawah and qital, quran and the iron, and they know clearly that if they refuse to follow it straightly it would reject them and eradicate their evil sooner or later. They know that the prophet Muhammad saws was sent down to slay them and their likes and he faced his relatives with that, his tribe and his people when they refused to follow this path straightly and he informed them about his purpose before he could fulfill it, he said: “Will you listen to me, O Quraysh? By him who holds my life in His hand, I bring you slaughter.” And then he fulfilled that in the best way when Allah honored Islam and its people with the sword.

And we are Allah willing following his way and continuing on his path, acting upon his sunnah and fighting with him.(And many a Prophet (i.e. many from amongst the Prophets) fought (in Allah’s Cause) and along with him (fought) large bands of religious learned men. But they never lost heart for that which did befall them in Allah’s Way, nor did they weaken nor degrade themselves. And Allah loves As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.).

Shaykul Islam ibn taymiyyah says: (seeing that many learned men fought with the prophet saws or got killed doesn’t mean that the prophet saws was fighting along with them, but everyone who followed the prophet saws and fought for his religion has fought with the prophet, and that is what the sahaba understood as their greatest battles happened after the death of the prophet saws until they opened the lands of sham, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, ajam, Rome, morocco, and east. And that’s when many was killed with him, as those who fought and was injured was fighting for the religion of the prophets and that is a lesson to all the believers until the day of judgment as they all fought with the prophet saws for his religion even if he passed away. And they come under verse: “Muhammad is the prophet of Allah and those who are with him” and in the verse: “And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you, (in the Cause of Allah)” so it’s not a condition for the one who’s with the obeyed to be watching or seeing him.) [Majmu' al fatawa]

So we tell our enemies loudly about our goal, and we inform them that if we are unable of fulfilling it today that doesn’t mean that we have erased it from our account as that is not allowed for us by any way or permissible, that’s why we ask Allah night and day and ask Him in the morning and evening to reach their necks and every enemy of his religion, and all our actions and breath is preparation for that cause.

And they know that very well and they also know the misguidance of those scholars who try with no luck to remove the sword from the Quran, and they know his ignorance in this Deen and have become misguided regarding the commands of Allah and have no understanding in this Deen.

Shaykhul Islam ibn taymiyyah said: “The Deen of Islam: is that the sword is a follower with the Book, so if the knowledge of Quran and Sunnah is found and the sword is following it then the commands of Islam would be established.” [al fatawa 393/20]

And he said:” so the foundation of this Deen is a guiding Book and a supporting sword But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper.

    by muwahidah in Health

Studies often show that when you are craving sweets, you are actually most likely dehydrated.  Approximately 80% of the population is walking around unknowingly dehydrated.  So, next time instead of reaching for junk food, do your body good, snack on a cup of honeydew.

    • Contain potassium, this mineral helps keep your muscles from cramping.

    A minute of your life.

    by muwahidah in Tazkiyah

    A minute of your life.

Our days are made of seconds, minutes, hours etc but how do we spend our time? How many minutes of our day go wasted on nothing? you can either use them on committing sins or doing good deeds. Its all going to be counted on our scales on the day of judgment.

A minute can have a big count for your good deeds if you spend it on remembrance of Allah, reading Quran, making duaa, pondering over the verses of Allah etc.

And at the same time they can happen if its spent on committing sins like, backbiting, slandering, litening to music, or just waste it on lahw etc.

So subhanallah we decide how we wanna use our time and in what scale we want our minutes to be in with our own actions.

So heres a FEW examples - and theres many many more- on how you can spend your minutes on easy deeds that gives u great reward with Allaah swt.

In one minute you can recite Soorat al-Faatihah 7 times, reciting rapidly and silently. Some scholars said that the reward for reading al-Faatihah is more than 600 hasanahs, so if you read it 3 times you will, by the permission of Allaah, gain more than 1400 hasanahs - all of that in one minute.

In one minute you can recite Soorat al-Ikhlaas (Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad) 20 times, reciting rapidly and silently. Reciting it once is equivalent to one-third of the Qur’aan. If you read it 20 times it is equivalent to reading the Qur’aan 7 times. If you read it 20 times in one minute each day, you will have read it 600 times in one month, and 7200 times in one year, which will be equal in reward to reading the Qur’aan 2400 times.

In one minute you can read 2 pages from the quran or a beneficial book.

In one minute you can say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god except Allaah alone with no partner; to Him be dominion and praise, and He is Able to do all things) - 20 times. The reward for saying this is like freeing 8 slaves for the sake of Allaah from among the sons of Ismaa’eel.

In one minute you can send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) 50 times by saying Sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (May Allaah bless him and grant him peace). In return Allaah will send blessings upon you 500 hundred times because one blessing brings ten like it.

In one minute you can say Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi Subhaan Allaah il-’Azeem (Glory and praise be to Allaah, glory be to Allaah the Almighty) 50 times. These are two phrases which are light on the lips, heavy in the balance and beloved to the Most Merciful, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When I say ‘Subhaan Allaah, wa’l-hamdu Lillah, wa laa ilaah ill-Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar (Glory be to Allaah, praise be to Allaah, there is no god except Allaah, and Allaah is Most Great)’, this is more beloved to me than all that the sun rises upon.” (Narrated by Muslim). In one minute, you can say all of these words more than 18 times. These words are the most beloved words to Allaah, the best of words, and they weigh heavily in the balance of good deeds, as was narrated in the saheeh ahaadeeth.

In one minute you can uphold the ties of kinship by calling a relative on the phone

In one minute you can either forbid the evil and enjoin the good.

In one minute you can give charity to the needy.

In one minute you can make a muslim happy.

In one minute you can offer help to someone you see on the street.

In one minute you can give out a benefical tape or leaflet.

And theres many other good deeds you can do in just one minute, so if you have any other examples feel free to comment below..

    Jazakumullahu khayran
